Sochi is Russia's subtropical resort that stretches for 145 km along the Black Sea coast. Soft climate, mineral springs and reserves of therapeutic mud, the proximity of The Caucasus mountains create all conditions for a variety vacation in summer and winter.
The climate of Sochi is humid subtropical, it is significantly influenced by the sea (in summer it is cooler, in winter it is warmer) and mountains (protect from cold Northern winds). This climate is observed in neighbor of Sochi - Abkhazia and in the South-East of the United States.
The maximum precipitation falls in the winter – in many cases it is rain, less snow. Winter is warm, summer is hot and humid.

Rosa Khutor is a ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana, in the Adler district of Sochi. The area of the Rosa Khutor complex is approximately 1,820 hectares of the southern, northern and northeastern slopes of the Aibga range. Elevation difference: from 575 m above sea level near the Mzymta River to a mark of 2509 m at the top of the Stone Pillar. The first stage of the ski resort was opened on December 15, 2010.
The largest competitions held on the slopes of Rosa Khutor: the World Cup in Alpine Skiing (February 2012); specialized competitions in the framework of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi (2014).

The Gazprom mountain tourism complex has been operating since 2008, located in the Sochi ski cluster, on the territory of Krasnaya Polyana village and Esto-Sadok village. GTZ Gazprom is known not only as a ski resort, it works all year round: in summer it offers excursions, tourist lifts on the cable car and other leisure options, including accommodation in the hotel sector.
The territory of Gazprom in Sochi includes the Laura ski-biathlon complex, the mountain complex of cableways and pistes for skiers and snowboarders, the spa center and training sport base, the Galaktika RC with an aquapark and other facilities. The total area of the resort "Gazprom" - 373 hectares.
The opening of the season at Gazprom is in December, the exact date depends on the height of the snow cover and the general weather conditions. Season closing - in March (the date also needs to be clarified).

The special location of the mountains in Krasnaya Polyana resort allows you to start the skiing season from December to June. The resort has more than 30 kilometers of ski slopes of various levels of difficulty, illuminated trails for evening skiing and trails with artificial snow.
